Allerzen is an app for managing your allergies. It integrates allergens forecasts, symptoms tracking and recommendations. Allerzen helps you take appropriate actions in advance, it reduces the life impact of your allergies and it provides personalized content based on your symptoms and air quality.

The project began with a workshop. The goal was to identify unmet customer needs, business problem, hypothesis and opportunities.After this workshop, all stakeholders were on the same page. The Lean UX canvas helps the product teams clarify what problem they are solving and whom they are solving it for.

For each page, I report the findings during of the users interview. Overall the home page not understood by users.

• AQI is confusing for users
• Log symptoms is used twice a day. (specially asthmatic)
• Notifications are not easy to setup

"My issues stem from my poor routines; if I neglect my self-care, my rhinitis flare-ups become harder to handle."

Requirements :
• To be aware of pollen existence in the atmosphere
• Gain more knowledge about her allergies
Challenges :
• Unclear about the specific allergens causing her reaction
• Unable to distinguish between symptoms of allergies and flu

“I create packed meals, allowing me to avoid outdoor allergens at lunchtime.”

Requirements:
• Avert allergic reactions
• Monitor their improvement
• Administer medication prior to high pollen count. Issues:
• Lack of knowledge regarding allergen intensity
• Incapable of mitigating their symptoms.

To commence crafting a component, I initially refine the reasoning and structure alongside the PM.

Goal : Understand My Air Quality score and what pollen are present in the air


Issue :

Users didn’t understand what is the AQI and how it is calculated.

Solution :

I create a page with a short explanation about the AQI.
Also adding a scale helps the user to better interpret the AQI value.

After a pilot test with 120 users the overall the feedback was really positive.

Some key results :

• 9 out of 10 users would recommend allergen app
• 60% of all users remained active after 5 weeks
• Consumers found the app easy to navigate and intuitive during testing
• Allerzen app is in the top 30 % among medical & wellness solutions
